  • As 2024 begins, we look ahead to this year in anticipation and excitement for the opportunities it holds. Since inception, the team at Traverse embraces a passion for creating places and environments that help individuals connect to their surroundings. Through the leadership of Kris and Ashley, an unwavering commitment to growth, collaboration and impactful design will continue. This dedication extends beyond Traverse, and into the communities we live and engage with every day.  Alongside her work at the firm, Ashley has spent many years on planning and zoning boards and currently serves on the Planning Board in Warwick, Rhode Island. Kris, who enjoys the opportunity to work alongside industry peers to develop affordable housing in Rhode Island, was recently appointed Board Chair of the Women’s Development Corporation after many years of leadership on the board. While we celebrate accomplishments in and out of the firm, our mission never changes. We look forward to another year of collaboration with our partners and continuing to showcase the vibrant spaces our team rings to life every day. Happy New Year. Sincerely, Kris & Ashley

  • As we come to the end of the year, we wanted to take a moment of reflection to extend our appreciation to you and share important news as we head into 2024. For a decade, both Traverse clients and our internal team have benefited from Art Eddy’s dedicated, creative, and community-driven leadership. We write today to share news that he will transition to another role at the end of this year. We are so appreciative of the years of collaboration we have had with Art and look forward to working with him in a new capacity in 2024. When Kris and Art founded the firm 2011, we, and our growing team, united around a common focus on creating vital, meaningful landscapes that foster community and address the critical issues that impact people’s lives and the environment. Our deep commitment to enhancing the human experience through design has been a driving principle behind every project our team has undertaken – from educational and civic institutions, commercial developments to parks and open space. While Art will certainly be missed, Kris and Ashley are excited to continue ownership and leadership of the Traverse team. We couldn’t be prouder of the team we have built and the successful relationships we have cultivated with our client partners. We look forward to continuing productive collaborations with your team in the New Year. We know our work together supports your goals of creating thriving and resilient communities. Please join us in celebrating Art’s accomplishments and the next step of leadership of Traverse.   Sincerely,   Kris & Ashley

Principal at StormTree® Sustainable stormwater management and green infrastructure design engineer and systems provider

School’s back in session! We look forward to working with A&E firms on school projects, having completed several throughout the US. In 2017, StormTree provided 17 tree filter systems to manage stormwater parking lot runoff associated with the newly constructed, 250,000ft2, Plymouth South High School in Plymouth, Massachusetts. The school received LEED Silver certification based on the incorporation of several “green” design elements such as an energy efficient building envelope and stormwater collection systems. The open design StormTree systems integrate stormwater collection and healthy tree growth with an expansive soil media complex engineered to attenuate pollutant loading and provide additional volume control. The systems are conveniently spaced within multiple traffic islands without requiring separate or additional land usage. We stopped by the school recently just before the return of the 1,000+ students to check on some of our “students”. Project architect was Ai3 Architects, LLC; Pare Corporation provided engineering services. #stormwatermanagement #greeninfrastructure #schooldesign #landscapearchitecture #sustainablecities #schoolconstruction #stormtree #lausd
