April 2010 - Both Cedar Rapids and Iowa City have been recognized as “Best Places for Businesses and Careers” by Forbes magazine’s “best of” list published in April 2010. Cedar Rapids ranked number 13 out of the nation’s two hundred largest metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) and Iowa City ranks second among smaller metros (below 245,000 in population).

April 2010 - Cedar Rapids ranked number 1 for projected job growth by Forbes Magazine.

December 2009 – Cedar Rapids was cited as one of several U.S. cities that have driven down health care costs with a community-centric strategy while remaining competitive in delivering quality outcomes by Institute for Healthcare Improvements.

November 2009 – Cedar Rapids is rated 57th in the Milken Institute for economic vibrancy of metropolitan areas.
